Bittern Primary School is an inclusive and dynamic collaborative learning community located in the township of Bittern, on the Mornington Peninsula. Nestled amongst the gum trees with a rural outlook.  Led by a dedicated team of professionals, Bittern Primary School, is committed to providing all of our students with the skills to prepare them for the future.

Through our strategic plan, we focus on our core business of Teaching and Learning, Student Wellbeing and Community Engagement. Staff work together to ensure the delivery of the curriculum is both consistent and challenging with learning intentions and success criteria clearly articulated. Students are guided by staff, to set their individual learning goals and pathways.

Alongside Bittern Primary School’s instruction of Literacy, Mathematics and Social and Emotional Learning, sit our specialist subjects of Visual Arts, Information/Digital Technology, Physical Education and Kitchen classroom. We are also proud to offer an outstanding STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics) programme through a strong partnership with our local Secondary College at Western Port. Complementing our classroom curriculum we ‘run’ a daily fitness club, brekky club and Fresh Fruit Fridays and an active Walk to School programme. We have a strong focus on developing student voice and leadership through pathways such as; Student Representative Council, I Sea, I Care Ambassador programme, Student Leaders Group, Year Six Portfolios and class meetings.

Here at Bittern Primary School, we place a strong focus on the Social and Emotional wellness of our students, staff and families. We have embedded the Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships curriculum and this provides our students with a strong set of skills that ensure emotional literacy and positive coping skills, whilst promoting positive relationships and equity for all members of our community. Our values of Respect, Responsibility, Community and Learning form the basis of all the programmes provided.

At Bittern Primary we are dedicated to ensuring our students further their education equipped with the skills to succeed in an ever-changing world. We welcome all visitors to Bittern Primary School. Enquiries and requests for school tours are welcome throughout the year.
